Media Solutions Created For You

Like most people, as a child I loved movies and television. Fortunately, this fascination was a positive influence on my life which grew into a love for video and ultimately all things related to media. Someone great once said, “If you love what you do, it won’t even seem like work.” I love media!

After more than a decade working in both small and large businesses, I began my own business, SL Creative Studio, focused on putting my love for media to work for others. My training goes beyond the endless hours of self teaching and continuous learning to industry recognized certifications and a marketing degree. From social media to web design to video and photography, I thoroughly enjoy marketing the mission, telling the story, and capturing the moment.

Media is powerful and when done well can transform a vision into a business, pictures into a story and a moment into a memory that will outlive you. I pride myself on providing a personalized approach to each client relationship.

Let me put media to work for you!

You can’t afford to ignore Social Media

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are no longer considered ‘that website the kids use’. In fact, Facebook is expected to announce its 500 millionth user this week. That would put the site 3rd in the world, if Facebook were a country. According to the February 2010 issue of Website Magazine, 83% of B2C organizations have a presence on Facebook. Even though sites like those mentioned above still top the list of Social Media sites used, there are a growing number of networks fighting for their place at the table. The professional networking site LinkedIn was identified in the same issue of Website Magazine as #7 in their list of Top 50 Social Media Resources. Mid-way through 2010, … Read entire article »

You Have The Control

I heard an insightful story at a conference I attended a few years ago. The speaker was well-known management and leadership author, John Maxwell, and the event was a large conference of small-business owners. The story: A man, moving to a new city, visited the hardware store in his new neighborhood. The man asked the store owner what the community was like. The store owner asked what the community was like where the man used to live. The man answered, “Wow, everybody was so friendly. A real community. Neighbors watched out and helped each other all the time.” The store owner replied, “That’s pretty much what this community is like. I think you will really like it here.” A few months … Read entire article »

Get to know Sonja

A few facts to help you get to know Sonja of SLCS Was I named after someone: My parents named me after the Queen of Norway. She visited Minnesota, as the princess, in the summer when my mom was pregnant. They liked her name and thought it was perfect for their daughter. Someone that influenced me: Chuck McDew, my History of the Civil Rights Movement teacher. Chuck taught what he lived through, not what he read from books. He personally impacted the United States by training others how to improve their situation by action. He is ‘The Chairman’ in the movie Freedom Song starring Danny Glover. I recommend everyone see it. Not only am I a Leo, I … Read entire article »

Who would you invite to dinner?

Who would you invite to dinner?

Some people have a Top 5 list while others will just pull a name out of the hat if asked who they would like to have a conversation with. I have an invitation list for those I would like to have dinner with.
